Press Review

Château Peyrat-Fourthon 2011-02-15
  • 4 stars
  • Upfront and brooding aromas of deep, dark fruit, spice, chocolate, liquorice, toast and vanilla.
Richly flavoured and full, modern and oaky but it executes it in an elegant way.
    Grand cru classé quality
    Decanter, February, 2011.

2008 Vintage - Château Peyrat-Fourthon 2010-10-13

This has a modern-style bouquet with noticeable vanillary oak, but it works well because they have retained fine freshness and delineation with crisp blackberry and bilberry fruit.
The palate is fullbodied with grippy tannins, a lot of new oak in evidence but again, the acidity balances it all up and the finish has an attractive purity and ebullience.
This is a lovely Cru Bourgeois.
